Those hankering for a home overseas with a beautiful beach nearby to match would be hard pushed to find a more perfect location to invest in than property for sale in Turkey.
A global Blue Flag scheme – which rates beaches on their environmental impact, cleanliness, water quality and overall looks – awarded Turkey a total of 383 Blue Flags. It’s the highest of all the countries who take part in the award, including the UK and other European countries, South Africa and the Caribbean (beaches in France were rated third highest).
The spectacular total of 383 flags is 52 more than the country received last year, justifying its well-deserved distinction as one of the best holiday countries in the world.
But it’s not only in terms of beaches that Turkey is forging ahead. Property in Turkey is being snapped up by foreign tourists while it’s marinas are becoming increasingly popular. In fact they too impressed judges from the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) who organise the Blue Flag awards. A total of 21 marinas in Turkey – seven in Mugla and six in Antalya – can now proudly fly their Blue Flag, making it the seventh highest in the awards category.
The region in Turkey with the most Blue Flags is Antalya, with 179 in total. Mugla is next with 76 and three beaches in Istanbul also pass FEE approval.
